Yes, and finished a distant 3rd. Mariota finished with 2534 points, Cooper finished with 1023.
Only like 12 non-RB/QB players have even finished in the top 10 in the voting since 2009. Since 2000, only 3 non-RB/QB players have finished in the top 3 (Fitzgerald, Teo, and Cooper).
Fitzgerald finished 2nd by 128 points. Teo finished 2nd by 323 points.
Only 2 non-QB/RB players have won it since 1990, Desmond Howard and Charles Woodson. Only 3 have won it since 1970.

I also don't like this idea.
Mark Ingram is one of my all-time favorite bama players, but having a statue of him outside of the stadium is a bit too much.
The only time a player's statue outside of a stadium is acceptable, is when a huge chunk of your entire program's history can be attributed to that one player - as is the case with Michael Jordan, or Cam Newton.
The Heisman is a team award. Period.
It's a no for me.
