I still think you guys are in an ok spot, especially when you consider how bad the East is at the moment. If Butch doesn't turn it around then I really do think the next hire is going to be extremely important. It is going to be tougher and tougher to get back to where you guys were the further you get away from those great years.

I don't see the animus towards Coach Jones. This year we had a bad cancer in the locker room, now excised. We've had a dozen injuries to our best players. It was taken as a given that the talent level was equal to any other SEC team. Coach Jones has done what he can do.
If your standard is that you have to beat Coach Saban, you (I mean a generic you) are setting a goal that defies quantification and will lead to more 'rebuilding years' and frustration.
