About the game, I wish I could rewatch it before commenting, but here's what I've got:
We definitely played well in spurts. We had a hard time getting the game to flow the way we wanted it to, especially with the refs inserting themselves in the game more in the first 10 minutes and the last 10. We went to the 1/2 court offense too early for my taste. You could tell that the team just doesn't look nearly as comfortable playing that style, but that may have been Pearl's reason for doing it so early. We struggled against their big man/men, as was expected. I think LaRon will probably be starting for us soon, if not Monday.
As OP said, we have a lot of really good athletes and shooters. We're obviously still figuring out how to play together, but that will come with time. Playing as many freshmen and sophomores as we do, that's to be expected.
The biggest thing I'm looking for going forward is who will be our x-factor? I think Dunans may be it. He plays a bit too out of control sometimes, but his effort on defense really seemed to drive our success in the first half.
Edit: In the interest of keeping the thread on track, removed reaponse to jangalang
