It got that way the last 12 years Richt was here, though, right? I went back 12 years because in 2002 we played for the SECC ranked at #5 against #3 LSU. So, unlike the populat narratvie, Richt didn't take advantage of a weak SEC earlier in his career. (I guess the first 3 years, or so.)

The entire landscape of CFB, how the SEC is viewed nationally, and the quality of the conference top to bottom is much different than when Richt won his sec championships. He was obviously capable of putting together good teams and competing in this "new sec" clearly if you look at 2012. He just never won it. If we finish that drive the narrative is so different on Richt.
