LSU is one of only seven athletic departments in the country that relies solely on self-generated revenue and doesn't take student fees. The other schools are Texas, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Penn State, Nebraska and Purdue.

Our university academic fund raising is objectively terrible. I haven't received a mailer/phone call from LSU in almost 10 years.
My wife receives them all the time from her Alma mater, probably every month. Even when we move they find her.
Anecdotal, but I've heard the same from other grads. If you don't make constant contact it is hard to raise money.
