Why can't the UA RBs find the same success in the NFL as they did in college?

I don't know anything about Auburn RBs.
What I do know is that the NFL is a passing league, which doesn't lend itself to seeing eye popping stats from RBs very often. Last season, only 7 of the 32 RBs hit the 1,000 yard mark. That was the lowest number in 25 years. You also see a lot more teams moving away from having a featured back, in favor of splitting carries, in an effort to extend their players' careers and productivity.
