He basically lost his edge during the first half of his 2nd season in '91. Mistakes got into his head and he continued to dig himself a hole.

Smoltz is a great guy. I met him twice and he is very down to earth and appreciative of fans. I can say the same about Dale Murphy too. Very nice guy as well.

I used to be a big baseball memorabilia collector. The Braves used to have a player a couple of times a year sign autographs before some of their games for cans of food for the Food Bank. I went down there and got a jersey autographed by him for 2 cans of food, and my son got a picture autographed.
I had some great autographs in my collection until I sold it. Ted Williams autographed bat. 4 Nolan Ryan autographed jersy's, one from each team he played for.
A Yogi Berra autographed Jersey, Pete Rose Auot. bat, Tony Gwynn auto. bat.....all kinds of stuff.
