Did the football team get to this point?

Is it as simple as we have too many players that don't care enough?

Bunch of penalties = don't care.
Missed tackles = don't care.
Everything J'Mon Moore = don't care.

Are we seeing the results of recruiting that took too many big swings trying to improve the athleticism of the team and make the next step, only to see too many of those big swings end up as misses?

Did Pinkel see last year what was coming with those recruiting misses and get out ahead of the posse?

I am having a hard time figuring out what to pin on the coaches with all this evidence that they are not getting the required effort from the players on Saturdays to execute. All this finger pointing at the defensive system is starting to sound like whining. I don't know any defensive system that works with players who don't bother to finish tackles.

Is it as simple as the coaches are too nice? Trying to be supportive. I've seen some evidence of this. When a player doesn't do his assignment or makes a few dumb penalties they need to sit not just keep playing. J'mon has the most talent so they keep playing him, but there are receivers who want to do their job that play harder and better like Wingo and Black. J'mon needs to sit. Why do they keep playing Witter instead of Crockett???

What about the guys on D that keep completely missing their reads. Is it really that hard that they still can't get it, or are the coaches bad teachers? And what's up with all the arm tackles?

The thing has slowly spread. They played harder early and showed flashes of what they could be, but now they seem demoralized. Nobody is stepping up, nobody trusts the others to do their job, they look dazed and confused. There doesn't seem to be any leaders on the field. Are there leaders on the staff? Is this why they closed the practices?

Motivating 20 year olds can't be easy. They need to have confidence in the staff and in what they are doing and in how they deal with situations. It's a new system and playbook for everyone. It has to be, Pinkle is gone.

At this point the season is a lost cause. They need to get control of the team back and get them to play hard and confidently. Put the kids in that want to play. If you don't know your routes or reads or assignments put someone in that does regardless of talent level. If no one does dumb it down as far as you have to.

BO is learning on the job in the SEC of all places. He might have been better off learning at Memphis.

Sux cause there is a lot of talent on this team. Going just be talent level they should be 6-1 or no worse than 5-2.

It's not just us however. Smart is struggling at jawja with a roster full of talent. Muschamp is shite at SC, they are way underperforming (but we knew that would happen). Pinkle went 4-7 and 5-7 his first two years at Mizzou and he wasn't in the SEC.
