As fan of Tom Osborne's career, and accomplishments on and off the field, I'm still waiting for the actual argument here.
Because an argument can be made that Osborne never built a program, he just maintained what Devaney started. And for much of his 25 years at Nebraska he was ridiculed for his inability to win a major game and lack of success versus Oklahoma. Not to mention his uncanny ability to lose 3 games a year. He also lost 7 bowl games in a row to prior to finally breaking through in 1994.
I understand what he did from 1994-1997. It's amazing. But it's not on some level far above what Saban has done from 2009-present.

Just look how many great football players come from Nebraska or any state surrounding SDakota, Iowa, Colorado, Kansas, and Missouri
Compare that to just Alabama not to mention the states surrounding Alabama
