Recruiting in Florida will be easy once he gets it rolling, he is great at developing qb's and i think will have good success in the future.

I am in the camp that he should have never been hired at UF in the first place. McElwain had 3 years as a coach and Foley decides to hire him at UF? Foley made the same mistake with Zook and Muschamp. Hiring guys that did not have the required years of experience. Is McElwain proven as a Head Coach? Nope. UF should not be on the job training, especially for football.

Let me ask an honest question. If Butterteeth was sitting in your living room with another SEC head coach trying to recruit you. Who would you decide to follow? I can only think of 1 or 2 coaches in the SEC I would put behind McElwain. He's going to get beat out in 90% of the cases. Which is why Urban Meyer, Jimbo, Richt, Saban, Malzahn, Harbaugh, etc., are beating him in his own backyard. Kids that grew up Gators are going elsewhere. And spare me the excuse that he's only had 2 years. Richt, Harbaugh and even Muschamp didn't take long to get recruits excited. McElwain is a Gomer Pyle type that is not very motivating in my opinion.

How many people can faithfully say that McElwain is a winning head coach? No one can because he doesn't have a track record. Now, how about Urban Meyer, Harbaugh, Saban, Richt? There is no disputing these guys are going to win wherever they go. Why would UF choose a guy that MIGHT BE successful??? At this point, McElwain is a crap shoot. Of course, you give him time but we all are praying he's the one.

I agree 100% here.

Muschamp nor McElwain should've ever been hired by UF.

Muschamp had never been a HC in his life and was a debacle of a hire.

McElwain is underwhelming and doesn't play a style of offense that fits at Florida.

Florida is known for speed. WRs galore in the state of Florida.
Why the heck are you running a traditional Bama like offense for a recruiting base that doesn't fit nor a fanbase that wants it. Even Bama is getting away from that.

Most UF fans want an offense similar to what the Fun N Gun was....maybe today's Baylor, Clemson or even UNC would be close to that. Some may try to deny it but most UF fans want that. It's in the UF DNA.

You can't fire this guy NOW but its inevitable. He's not taking UF where it should be. He's not a star coach nor is he a great recruiter.

Jeremy Foley is to blame though.
