Clearly Les wanted to get his buyout and move on.
There's no way anyone could have been so inept at offense or developing QBs...especially given that he admitted to knowing something had to be done. Despite reassurances that things would change, his offense stayed the same - or got worse.
I'm pretty sure this was Les' plan, but LSU waited a couple of years too long to finally humor him.
It's kind of like that episode of Seinfeld where George's employer won't fire him and pay out his contract.

I don't buy it. You could tell he was passionate about LSU and he loved the game. He was just old school as frick like Gene Stalling etc. and refused to change when everybody else in the league went to a spread scheme or "true pro-style".
