We did better than most teams do during their down years.

We somehow won a conference championship with one of the worst coaches to ever grace an SEC sideline. Mike Shula managed to win 10 games in a season one time, as did Franchione.

During that 10-year span between Stallings and Saban, we were on probation for all but a few years of it. We knew we were a sleeping giant.

Saban and Bryant weren't considered legends until they coached at Alabama. I think that says something about the program.
