It's really kinda sad. I get it with constant bellyaching when CMR would choke on an obvious one, but as the HC gig goes, Kirby's a true freshman, too. Everyone likes to point out how Bama went, Saban's first year, but that's not really accurate, since he had been a HC at multiple schools before landing in Tuscaloosa. His MSU time is really more of an indicator of where Kirby's coming from.

Yes, there's a degree of being a little spoiled when you spend 9 years under a program that stockpiles national championships, but they didn't get there overnight, and neither will we.

It is sad.

Especially when I feel like some people on this board never got on with the Smart hire to begin with.

I feel like there are a few poster here who got so upset that Richt was fired, that they want Smart to fail just so they can say we went from Richt who averaged 9 wins a year to Smart.

Anyone with any football knowledge at all knew that this was going to be a rebuilding year. I will admit that it is concerning to see a team get blown out, but when you have as many holes as we do. On top of that you have a freshman qb and a first year head coach, loses like these are going to happen.

I've said it in other threads and I'll say it again, when year 3 comes around and we get blown out and look completely uncompetitive then we can start calling for Smarts head.

Until then, some of you need to realize that we have a bad line on both sides of the ball, a true freshman qb, undersized receivers, and a head coach that is still learning how to be a head coach.

There will be growing pains.
