re: Your honest first impressions of SEC fans from road trip game experiences

Man, I read so many negative comments about SC fans...what happened? We used to be considered the most cordial in the SEC 10-15 years ago...we were just happy to be in the conference. Spurrier and a little more time in the conference must have really changed the attitude....if anything, we are more SEC-ish than we were. I'm guessing in 10 more years Mizzou and TAMU will be ticking off visiting fans just like every other school in the conference does.

Just want to add one more thing about tailgating at SC....because the stadium is off campus, most all land around stadium is private property and there are numerous private and gated tailgate spots that require passes to enter. There are also numerous condo developments that have been built around stadium and have been purchased just for tailgating. There are a lot of friendly, quality people tailgating around the stadium in these spots which are are simply inaccessible to a visiting fan....gauging the SC tailgate crowd as a visitor by just walking around will not give a good balance because there are so many places a visiting fan can't go.
