TCU has the best coach in their history, probably same for Houston, and was recently the same for Baylor. Doesn't change the fact that nobody gives a shite about any of those schools in Texas.

This is the truth.

No college football fan in any meaningful demographic in the state has seen an in-state program win a football national title in their lifetime other than The University of Texas.

Texas will likely fire Strong after he starts 1-4 this year. If the right hire is made, there is a foundation of solid players in Austin that a competent coach could make a national title run with in 2 to 3 years.

Tcu is atleast much more represented in dfw than ut-austin is. Thats certain. Texas should be able to do what you claim. But i dont know who theyre going to hire to do it.

I don't know about a title run in 2-3 years, that sounds like typical UTw fan hyperbole, but there will be a good foundation of talent in place for the next coach and if the right hire is made he should have no excuse if he stumbles out of the gate. This was a (smart) decision made bu UTw's bigger alumni a year and a half, two years ago - they fully realized that Charlie is a complete mistake and an utter clown, but that abandoning the program like they wanted to do in protest would only hurt the chances of the next coach in righting the ship. They decided to put their full effort into helping Charlie recruit (or doing it for him) so that when they inevitably fire Charlie after this year and (they hope) hire Herman, Herman will have the Larrys and Joes he needs. A&M's big alums unfortunately took the opposite tactic with Sumlin and went to war with each other after last season, with one half trying to undermine him and get him fired, damaging recruiting in the process.

He's starting 3-2, and will keep his job.
