Hell of a run for Alabama.
Now, if you guys could just skip the actual "games" part of the equation this year, you could claim another National Title.

Wait, I'm sure some people at your university are already printing the shirts, and to hell with what actually happens from here out. Alabama could lose three games this year, and not even make the playoffs, but in 20 years time the next generation of Gumps will be claiming another title.

If we claimed championships like you people act like we do, we'd have about 28. We claim exactly 1 championship in which we were not considered the best team in the country - by either the Rose Bowl in the pre-polling era, or by a major poll selector in the polling era.

When Bama won the 1964 AP championship, Arkansas & other rivals pitched a hissy fit so that the AP changed the rules.

So the next year 1965, #2 Arkansas was undefeated in the regular season, #4 Bama wasn't. Bama beat Neb. in the Orange bowl and won the Natty. The #1, #2, & #3 teams were beaten in their bowl games; #4 Bama won theirs & became the champs.

If the rule about picking the champions before the bowl games had not been changed, Alabama would not have won the Natty.

Thanks everyone.
