This has little to do with production. It certainly doesn't necessarily mean that this year's starters won't be more productive and talented. Barring injury, this year's defense will be an improvement.

Do you know what production means?

For instance:

You are losing 4/5 top 5 tackle leaders and well over 60% of the tackle production from last year.

You are losing 7 of your 14 interceptions and 31 of your 54 passes defended.

You are losing 29.5/55.5 of your TFL and 11 of your 19 sacks.

That is what losing production means.

Returning tackles has always been a retarded stat. As a matter of fact, total tackles period is a misleading stat. Defenses that get off the field with lots of 3 and outs aren't going to have as many tackles. UK, VU, etc linebackers leading the conference in tackles doesn't mean they're the best linebackers..... it means they were on the field all day.

Why? I'm not trolling. I am curious. I realize you get Lawson back...but you got Lawson back last year, too. You got a worse DC and lost half your defense? (Is that correct?) If that is correct, why do you think your defense will be better?
