I've worked in both Charleston and Savannah quite a bit. They both have high crime areas, but both have a lot of good attributes. My opinion is that the restaurants are better in Charleston. Both cities have a lot of charm and history. They have so many similarities, calling one a "shitehole" is calling the other the same.

I would agree....but the fact that one is in Georgia and the other in South Carolina...or Texas on steroids or Mississippi on a meth binge...is enough for me to know that Savannah has a slight edge....
