If Dabo stays on his current pace he will absolutely be the guy I want after Saban.

When he took over for Bowden he was in over his head and had many "Mickey Mouse" moments displaying his immaturity.

The last 3 years he has really matured and has turned into a hell of a program manager. He's an elite recruiter and his players love him.

What's not to like?

I just don't think his style and personality will fit here. He very much has the "we are the underdog, chip on the shoulder" thing down pat. And it works wonders at Clemson. I don't even really say that as a "negative". It just doesn't work at Alabama, at all, ever.

Maybe I am underestimating his flexibility, but I think that he would really have to show that he can run, discuss and manage a program that is a perennial power, where you can NEVER proclaim yourself the underdog (even when you are bad) because people will laugh at you and your fans will despise it.

I think Dabo would come here and probably be pretty good, but I'm not positive his schtick would work.

If he could change that, everything else is top notch. Recruiting, coaching, management, etc.

I'm about 90% sure Dabo will be the guy. He will stay on same pace or close to it. Saban likely coaches at least 5 more years. If he leaves after 6 more seasons, Dabo's youngest son will have finished high school.

Dabo to Bama is an easy call at any point 5+ years from now. The tougher call is who would Bama take if Saban decides to leave in 2-3 years (which doesn't seem likely at this point, but anything could happen).
