I agree with that. I can;t remember the kids name that was recruited as a QB I think and he never even got a shot. When he committed to LSU he was on TV and the radio trying to recruit other players. He had a ton of personality and seemed like a great positive influence on the team and every time he touched the ball it seemed like he would go for 50 or 60 yards and he would play about 4 plays a game. I would sit there and watch the TV and just think WTF is he thinking not having that kid in the game.
His name is Russell Shepard, and you exaggerated his production, but he switched to WR in year 1, where he should have been all along and where he plays now in the NFL. He wasn't in the game because, at the time, he had bad hands, ran poor routes, and wasn't a great blocker. He always excelled in special teams, which is where most of his action has been in the league. He was great with the ball in his hands, and LSU tried multiple different ways to get him the ball. The problem was, when he was in the game, everyone knew what was coming because he was ineffective doing anything else on offense unless it was a handoff from the QB or the wildcat formation.
