First road win under KA. The team that Mizzou beat lost to Mississippi State yesterday in OT. They had a chance to beast MSU, but missed the winning free throw.

Outside of the 2 freshmen, a pretty atrocious box score. Any idea how the minutes broke down?
Phillips was horrendous shooting from anywhere (1-6 FG, 0-4 3pt: 0-2 FT) and more troubling had 4 assists to 5 turnovers.
Walton was slightly better.
Puryear needs to stop shooting 3's and needs to shoot better than 25% from the field.
Woods was a non-factor.
CVL apparently was slightly better at 3-9.
Just reading the numbers, the 2 freshmen carried the squad and any win is a good win and hopefully a confidence builder.

Without seeing the game I wouldn't jump to any major conclusions. It appears the defense played really well. Held the other team to 35% shooting.
The first half was good offensively. Shot 50% from the floor.

I don't know that it's jumping to any conclusions. Clearly wasn't able to see them play. Just an observation that a lot of players shot very poorly (biting my tongue on how they shot) and didn't take very good care of the ball. Beyond that, I don't know that it's a conclusion but an observation that a lot of those numbers seem eerily similar to numbers put up last year.

The second half was a bad shooting half, but they got to the foul line 19 times. The team win easily. If Hughes is really ready for extensive playing time he will change the team. I really like his shot mechanics. Even playing with the longer FIBA 3-point line he shot well. I think he's a 40+% outside shooter.
The next game will be against the best competition. It's a pro team, average age is 27.
The other 3 are all basically mid majo type teams.
Which winning easily despite not playing great, at least statistically is a good thing.
