A few notes I picked up on from reading some people's observations. Tyson Williams is already showing he may be the number one running back on the team. AJ Turner impressed coaches and may be handling all special teams return duties. I'm excited about that because I have been talking about Turner for two years, he is electric when he has the ball. Orth and McIlwain are separating themselves at the quarterback spot. Lorenzo Nunez has been doing well that wide receiver, they have them in several clips of a highlight reel of day one.

I really, really hope Nunez dedicates himself to playing WR and develops into a playmaker. He has a great combo of size and speed if he can just learn the position.

Also, as far as Turner goes, Coach Bentley continuously praised him. So did Roper. I was at an event where Roper spoke about the offense coming out of the spring, and he mentioned Turner and his ability multiple times.

I believe our DL will be much improved from last year and will make a statement. We have some studs on that line this year.

I hope so. I think we aren't as void of talent there as people believe, we have a bunch of 4* DL. What made our defense great in '10-'13 was the pass rush, hopefully we can find 4+ guys who can get after it. If the pass rush improves, so will the DB's.

A couple other notes I read lately about fall practice:
I think it's already known that AJ Turner is now the RB1 and therefore not getting as many touches at KR/PR, which makes perfect sense. We don't need to risk RB1 on kickoffs.

Orth came back from his injury well and is a full go. He and McIlwain are going neck and neck for QB1. Bentley has improved a lot, but is still learning the playbook (which makes sense, he got here in May after spring camp.)

OL Bailey is a monster, I saw a video of him demolishing 4*DL Abu Lamin in Oklahoma drills. Donnell Stanley could start this year at Guard as well. He looked really good in Oklahoma drills. We don't have a TE who can block LB TJ Brunson, he beat Hurst and August in Oklahoma drills.

We have a few guys in yellow jerseys right now; Deebo, B Edwards, Crosby are the names I recall right now. Banks was running with the 1st team WR's while Deebo is out.

DB Rashad Fenton won some races and might be the fastest guy on the team. That's saying something b/c Deebo, Banks, and David Williams are in the 4.3's. He returned the KO TD against lsu last year.

Right now the strength of the team is projected to be OL and LB's. The concerns are RB, DB and DL. We're still searching for the right combination of starting DL. They did a new alignment yesterday where Lewis and Sawyer played inside with English and Ulrich Jones outside. This might be one of our best pass rushing DL sets.

Deebo is just experiencing soreness and will be back sooner than later.
