I dont think many of us WANT it to, its just been accepted as inevitable.
That's all it is. If Texas and/or OU refuse to sign an extension to their current GOR the XII is on a death watch.
The question then becomes: Is the SEC better off adding XII choice plums like Oklahoma, Texas and/or Kansas rather than watching them join another conference (the B1G in particular)?
Jim Delaney has made no bones about taking the Big Ten beyond 16 and adding the three remaining XII's with name cache would make it highly profitable to them. That said, would Texas ego and insecurity allow them to be just another school in a real super conference? I'm not sure.
So yes, it's not about wanting to expand. It's more wondering about the possible outcomes.

Most of the stupid posts about expanding are from fricking kids still in high school or just out and dont understand anything about tradition.
The SEC was a 10 member conference for a damn long time after Ga Tech & Tulane withdrew and wanted academics as a priority.
Along came Ark & SC and now we have A&M and Missouri, fine, but no need for more.
