If everyone who aligns with Johnson's fiscal and social views voted for him, he'd win. The problem isn't the independent voter; it's the voter who refuses to vote independent because they believe it's a waste, even though they may align with the independent.

This requires voters to do their due diligence, which is something the majority of the constituency simply refuses to do.
