Thank you everyone for the replies!

Great info, German. I think you may have convinced me to find out where in the hell Stuart Florida is.

About 9 hours from Atlanta or a less than $300 flight (sometimes less than $200).

You won't regret it if you hit it just right...December to January and even into February some years...new moon...strong north easter blowing at 20-25 sustained and a nice drop in air temps and 5-8 foot seas not too close together and you will see hundreds of sails surfing the swells and wolfpacking bait balls...an amazing sight. Any of the boats that have been in business for more than 4-5 years know what they are doing...it ain't rocket science when the conditions are right...30-70 pound Atlantic sails ain't the brightest bulb in the fixture but they make up for it with attitude LOL.

The fishing in Stuart is pretty good year round....the sails are there all year and in the summer the seas are like a mill pong and the Dolphin are thick as fleas. Some fantastic inshore fishing as well....HUGE trout, decent redfish and one of the most untapped Snook fisheries in Florida. And Tarpon and Triple Tail all make for a fishermans paradise...and it ain't so far into south florida that you think you are in New Jersey....you can get Grits almost anywhere! On top of this it ain't far from Okkechobee and late in the sailfish season is prime time for pre-spawn largemouth and crappie fishing is on....

The only drawback is the fishing is best when there is a bit of blow....you definitely do not want to go during the height of the sailfish season in flip flops and a tank top...unless you like 70 degree water and 50 degree air temps and a howling NE wind and seas running to 12 feet (most boats won't go with much more than that...I have been and it ain't fun...but the fishing is GREAT!). This ain't the typical Florida boiling in the sun and sweating your arse off fishing...closer to duck weather than fishing....but the numbers are unbeleivable at times....I have been on a 26 foot boat by myself in 5-6 foot seas and hooked up double digits during the peak of the season....no more than 2 miles from the hill!
