There is very little parity within the SEC. We've all seen what Saban can do in a league with parity.
Coaches in the SEC are facing an "uphill" battle against Bama and the league offices which are heavily influenced by Bama. The media days event in 2013 was a "HUGE" wake-up call for me. Sumlin came into the league and upset the "apple cart". The league quickly stepped in to try to change the rules to benefit the Bama program. They didn't "officially" change the rules, but it was clear the referees called the games differently going forward.
There are also several random "SEC" football only recruiting and transfer rules that don't exist anywhere else in the NCAA and only stand to reduce parity within the conference.
