good, since he's awful

If Gary Johnson had a chance I'd vote libertarian. Johnson was the first major politician to advocate ending the so called "war against drugs."

If a libertarian actually had a chance to win I'd probably vote that way. It is absolutely face melting that it's 2016 and people are still being jailed in parts of the country for igniting a plant that grows from the ground, yet aren't in other parts. The war on drugs is one of the biggest jokes in American history.

From Nixon advisor John Eherlicman:

quote:

“The Nixon campaign in 1968, and the Nixon White House after that, had two enemies: the antiwar left and black people. You understand what I’m saying? We knew we couldn’t make it illegal to be either against the war or black, but by getting the public to associate the hippies with marijuana and blacks with heroin, and then criminalizing both heavily, we could disrupt those communities. We could arrest their leaders, raid their homes, break up their meetings, and vilify them night after night on the evening news. Did we know we were lying about the drugs? Of course we did.”

and nearly 50 years later we're still being punished. Sickening.

The fight against the drug war is the only front in the struggle for freedom where citizens have made any progress.

The Surveillance State seems to be unstoppable. The population has been scared into supported endless wars while our arms merchants sell weapons to both friends and enemies. Wall Street ponzi schemes inflate a phony GDP number by trillions while transferring wealth away from the poor and the middle class to enrich ivy league thieves.

My motto is "Legalize Freedom."

To call it face melting might be a tad melodramatic, WG. Heroin is grown in the ground, too, and just because the rest of the world does, or does not, do something doesn't mean we have to follow along.

My daughter lives in the Netherlands, and you should talk to some of the Dutch to see how they feel about their openness to drugs. Most Dutch hate Amsterdam for many reasons, not the least of which are all the drug addicts. And they are, as a whole, a very tolerant society. I honestly believe that is one genie they wish they could put back in the bottle.

No. My daughter is not Dutch, she just lives there. (Not in Amsterdam) and Yes, I have talked to many of the Dutch when my wife and I were visiting there last Fall.
