Many folks have used the "80 in a 70 MPH zone, while OM is doing 100 analogy"

I totally get what you are saying but there were false/unfounded accusations being thrown at us before any formal documentation became public. I agree that OM fans that were claiming total innocence early on were in denial and there isn't much defense other than half the other posters claiming complete innocence too. It's BS, boosters are part of college football.

The thing that frustrates a lot of fans is that our situation is being equated to situations like SMU or some other unprecedented case. We downplay the severity of it all, not because we think we are innocent, but because compared to many of the investigations over the past decade, what we did is busch league. The level at which we have cheated doesn't warrant much more than the sanctions we proposed, otherwise we would've proposed something way worse. We are going 90MPH not 100 and everyone else is still going 80. We got caught, big deal. Let's pay for it. People are buying into the "Ole Miss is only winning because of cheating and corruption" conspiracy which is obviously false if you know anything about the game. I get it. It's fun and I would probably do the same thing. I will tell you that it can get old having the little achievement we've had dwindled down to cheating when half the division has more talent, better facilities, and more accomplished programs.

Personally, I haven't said much about it because I don't know the details and neither does anyone else. Everyone on here would be defending their school the same way we are so I don't see a problem with it. Just wait til the ish is official damn. But I know nobody will.
