Former South Carolina outfielder Jackie Bradley Jr.’s great start to his fourth major league season has earned him a spot in this year’s MLB All-Star Game, set for next Tuesday at 8pm ET in San Diego.
Bradley, who will start in next week’s contest alongside Red Sox teammates Xander Boegarts, Mookie Betts, and David Ortiz, was batting .294 with 13 home runs and 53 RBI. His six triples rank second in the American League, while his slugging percentage of .546 is eighth in the AL. You’ll also remember that Bradley put together a 29-game hitting streak earlier this season that ran for over a month (April 24 to May 26), during which his splits were .415/.488/.783 to go along with 30 RBI. The last Gamecock to play in the All-Star Game? Brian Roberts, back in 2007.
Not only did Bradley make the All-Star Game, but he finished rather high in the AL voting. He finished with 2,184,884 votes, second among outfielders behind Los Angeles Angels star Mike Trout.

Really proud of him. Better yet, he's on a team poised to make a run. Really cool that Big Papi might have the chance to go out on top as well.

Also saw that 2 of our former Signees (who skipped college for the MLB draft/signed) are also on the NL All Star Roster.
