Well since alabama is a state, and if you have no connection with that state or school and support the team you are a sidewalk fan

If you are an American (even with no military service) and support America that's an obvious connection no?

Your analogy should be if you are from another country and have no connection with America yet support America, then yes. You are a sidewalk American

Lots of people don't pay taxes, except when they buy something. I've paid taxes like that in many other countries and didn't feel like I had dual-citizenship.

Well you don't have dual citizenship. Just like someone from Mississippi that supports Alabama football and buys apparel doesn't mean they have state residency in Alabama.

Do you support the countries you've been to that you aren't a part of? Nothing wrong with that, but if you do and say "we" in regards to that country then yes you would be a sidewalk fan of that country.

It's basically like a guy in turkey that has no connection to the US talking shite to a Russian about the Cold War "victory"' and saying "we" came out on top in regards to the US.
How that Russian looks at the Turk is how everyone else looks at the bandwagon bama fans: "oh you beat us huh?"
