Not sure what this will do to the US. The pound has dropped to its lowest level since 1985. News people are predicting this will hurt the global market.

May be your shot to become not so poor, friend. Once the initial shock is over, markets will rebound for great returns.

100 percent agree with this guy. The truth of the matter, is that the U.K. is going nowhere. No matter how much globalists, elitists, and immigrants are saying it will.

The Brits have never used the euro and are the second leading financial market in the world. I am pretty sure they will figure this out and will probably start the beginning of the EU collapse.

Also, when the media is the first to start pushing their "the world will end" agenda... That's usually when you should bet against the house.

It is just another sign that people are fed the frick up with the 'new world order' and are ready to take control back from globalists. It is the same energy that's fueling Trump and to a great extent Bernie.

To further that point, HRC said they should stay and Obama directly campaigned for the stay vote. Trump said if he were British he would vote to leave.

Nobody in the establishment on either side of the pond thought they would leave and yet it wasn't as close as the polls predicted. There is a worldwide move underway. The U.K. was first but they won't be the only one.

In the long run, the U.K. will be MUCH better off because they will be able to make decisions that work for THEIR nation as opposed to vowing to the whims of Brussells.

Does this affect how easy Brits can travel across Europe?

All of this. The EU has fricked themselves with a stupid immigration policy that has literally invited Muslims to take over Europe. I'm guessing the average Brit sees no reason to go down with the EU ship.

Ok, but that freedom of movement is a two way street. Brits had free access to any part of the EU, but people from any part of the EU had free access to the UK.

They had no ability to control their own borders and were seeing a big influx of cheap labor from eastern Europe and extremists have easy access to the UK. Additionally, they were told by the EU that they don't have the right to limit the number of migrants/refugees they accept.

Sound familiar?

The border control issue was the single biggest factor in the leave vote. Citizens of the UK finally woke up and realized that it is a fundamental fact that a nation that can't control its borders isn't really a nation at all. By leaving the EU the UK will now have to negotiate agreements for things like travel and trade with the EU and other nations of Europe. The agreements will end up providing a freedom of travel very similar to what they enjoy right now - and enjoyed well before the EU grew from a trade partnership into a quasi-nation.

Edited to add: The UK isn't the only one struggling with these issues, but the smaller nations/economies have been afraid to go solo. Now that the genie is out of the bottle, a lot more nations will likely follow unless the EU makes massive policy reversals and has a complete overhaul.

Pretty much this. If the EU had a reasonable response to the immigration and integration in to society, this probably wouldn't have happened.

Also the cuck republicans should feel terrible today considering in 7 years they couldn't stand up to obama but fricking england told him to frick off

Good for them. I wouldn't want to give up that much sovereignty either.

No doubt, but the biggest loser is Angela Merkel. She's probably still drinking right now.

The second largest economy in the EU just said frick off. Pandora's Box has been flung wide open.

Greece will likely leave next and it wouldn't be surprising to see Denmark leave soon too. An Austria-first candidate just lost their presidential election by 30,000 votes out of 2.5 million cast. If the EU refugee/immigration situation continues, they could easily bolt.

The whole thing is on the brink of falling completely apart.

As someone that's voted (R) in every presidential election since I turned 18 in 1985, let me tell you.....

Well, let me tell you that your spot on.

I stayed up until 11:30 last night watching the returns. Never in my life have I felt so invested in the outcome of a foreign election. If I owned a Union Jack, I'd be flying it outside my house today.
