addressed a putt, but didn't ground his putter, however, the ball moved backwards.

They will rule AFTER the round whether he "caused" it to move

Ok.....so I play golf about 4 times a year and watch the majors when I can, so I fully admit I DON'T know the intricate rules of golf.

But wtf is this about? First of all, why does it matter if your putter grounds or not. Next, why would the powers that be rule on this after the round? I'm so confused.

The fact he hadn't set his putter down, means it's less likely his actions caused the ball to move.

As to the ruling after the round....who the frick knows. Probably so they can keep people watching longer and they get to control the situation.
