An outsiders view of what happened to A&M:
Sometimes, you get so hellbent on revenge (I've heard the team called 2016 the revenge tour) that you forget to concentrate on the things that got you to a certain point, ie; Supers. They exacted revenge on everyone they had targeted all year and this past weekend was set up so perfectly, At Home vs a less experienced team from a school that upset you last year. It was too perfect and everyone just assumed it would happen.
I noticed that the fans seemed really comfortable with that one run lead that lasted so long...Sometimes teams can try too hard.
I think a similar dynamic happened to Gump in football vs Mississippi.

Once it got to like the third or fourth inning and we hadn't touched that gangly motherfricker again after the first I was anything but comfortable. We missed our shot in the first inning in hindsight to jump all over them and get 3 or 4.
