I can kind of relate to what you are going through. I was raised up in foster care and eventually my grandparents adopted me. They were more than strict with me out of fear that I would end up on the streets like my mother did. Unfortunately, I developed epilepsy at age 12 that really peaked in my late teens early 20s. This restricted me from getting a car or a driver's license and I was forced to have my grandparents take me where I wanted to go. They did not encourage me nor did they permit me to have a license let alone a car. It really used to get me down because noone wanted to take the time to come pick me up to join in on activities and whatnot. But eventually, I wised up and started taking private driving lessons on my own and didn't get a license until I was 22. I now have a brand new car. I think if you are just trying to stick it out until you can use your student money then to buy a car then that would be your best interest. If the people you are asking rides from understand that it's only temporary they might be persuaded to help you more. You might also look into taking online classes that was you wouldn't have to worry about driving to school at all.
