I think Dan Mullen is a pretty good coach. His numbers speak for themselves as compared to State historically. As for whether he would win more at A&M, I look at it like this:
Mullen's best quality, to me, is his consistency. If you make mistakes, he wins. If he has better talent than you, he wins. He has never had one of those Jacksonville State/Maine/Appalachian State debacles.
I think consistency is also his problem. He never beats teams that have a clear talent advantage over State, either. Obviously, many coaches don't, but if you're going to get over the hump (pardon the pun), you have to have a signature win that announces your arrival.
The question would be would he be able to recruit well enough to A&M to get superior talent than everyone? I'm not sure, but he probably could get the Ags competitive for #2 in the West, which would be an improvement.

That's fair. You can generally look at the schedule under Mullen and predict it pretty well. Which is a good and bad thing.
