Religions do that, too. Christians did it for centuries, and some (not all of course, or even a majority, kinda like muslims with terrorism) Christian preachers STILL advocate for the killing of certain types of sinners.

The thing is, is that the Old Testament has or should have little to no bearing on Christian doctrine.
Unless you think Christians slaughter lambs and offer them up as burnt offerings, take baths everytime they have sex, won't eat pork, and keep their wool and flax separated.
