When I tell people that the most successful all time SEC basketball program outside of Kentucky is Alabama, they are in disbelief.
quote:LSU has more SEC titles than Bama (10-7), more NCAA tournament appearances (21-20), more Sweet 16s (9-8), more Elite Eights (6-1) and more trips to the Final Four (4-0). Florida's national titles trump all of those stats, too.
No national title like UF, but when you consider SEC titles, ncaa and sweet 16 appearances, all time wins, home attendance, then a legit case is made imo.

Fair enough, time flies and I didn't realize how bad Bama had gotten past years in basketball, enough to let LSU get ahead that much. Congrats to LSU.
For the record, Bama has 14 SEC men's basketball titles total, 8 regular season, 6 tournament titles.
Against all SEC teams, Bama leads in all time wins against all except Kentucky and Arkansas. Bama leads all time vs. LSU 101-67.
