Agree. And Saban is not wrong in saying that others on the team can and should learn from the mistakes these two made.

They made mistakes and once the full facts of the case come out if those mistakes are proven to be at the level some are purporting, then they should and will receive punishment. If the facts aren't to that level (say the gun wasn't actually stolen, the amount of pot is residue vs a larger quantity, etc) then they'll receive a lesser punishment and then many on this site and elsewhere will be up on their moral high horse making claims like yours.

Jordan Jefferson spent half the season suspended for what eventually became a misdemeanor. You couldn't pick a worse example, considering these two haven't even been suspended yet and may never be.

Drop the horse shite. He's posturing to mitigate the eventual bad PR that's going to result from him not disciplining a starter in any meaningful way for the second year in a row. If you're too naive to see that then I feel sorry for you in today's world.
