I'd put LSU C Jordan Romero over Rivera on 2nd team. .339 BA 9 HRs 39 RBIs and has only started 30 games

At least 4 or so LSU fans have mentioned Romero by now...and I get it, his raw numbers look good but there is something to be said for doing it over 50-55 games as opposed to 30-35.

Had I made this same post midway through the season, John Jones of USC would be everyone's first team b/c he was hitting like .430 or something. No one has mentioned him for 1st/2nd team yet in this thread. So that's kinda my point.

And it doesn't take away from Romero, but it's extremely assumptive to assume his numbers would be correlate and be the same over the course of 50+ games.

Furthermore, Joshau Palacios of Auburn has GREAT numbers in limited action and no one has mentioned him, yet.

Or Jacob Robson of State.

most catchers don't play in 55+ games regardless. And Romero has played in 42 but started in 31. It just took that long before Mainieri realized Papierski's defense wasn't enough better than Romero's to justify keeping him on the bench. I see what you're saying, but it's not like Romero has only played the second half of the season. He's been the most clutch player on the LSU team this year. I think it's also presumptive to say his numbers would be worse had he started sooner. His numbers are what they are and they are very good.
