If you think and coach has any idea about everything his staff is doing that's crazy. It took the NCAA looking in to the improper benefit for Saban to get to the bottom and firer his assistant for improper visits. I guess he is failing as well.

I don't think so but by your unrealistic standards.

In that instance, he did fail to run his program. You seem to think because I said a coach has to have knowledge of his program, that in turn it means he should be held responsible for all the actions of his staff or the people in the program. This is not some type of new concept. In many companies the boss/CEO is responsible for many of the employees' actions whether known or unknown to him or her. That doesn't mean they are a terrible boss/coach or that they should be punished. It is a reflection on the coach though.

How could Saban had known unless he had a GPS on his coach? Things happen you can't control that's life but he handled it properly once you learn of it. There are thing they are expected to know about but they can't know everything.

Yes they are responsible for their program but to think a coach or CEO knows everything that is going on is ridiculous. If there are some $100 boaster handshakes a coach can't be expected to know every time something like that happens. If a coach goes off on their own and does something stupid how could a head coach know. They need to do the best they can and then handle it properly when it does happen. If the athletic department is working with a player on something that is a responsibility of the athletic department the coach wouldn't be involved unless it was needed. Yes up to a certain point you have to be able to catch but not everything.
