I believe Bret can build the team, but Petrino had more success than Bret currently has. BCS appearance and was ranked #3 going into the final weekend in 2011.

Petrino had more success because of one recruiting class from in state. Petrino did not recruit well, at all. Petrino was a good coach, but his downfall will always be the defensive side of the ball and the lack of recruiting there. That is why under him, Arkansas would beat everyone but Alabama and at times LSU. He was so controlling. He will not let his defensive coordinator call his own defense. Petrino has his own defensive play book and the DC must stick by that book and not sway from it.

Petrino will always put his best athletes on the offensive side of the ball. It doesn't matter if they are a key cog on the defensive side. If they can play just a hint of offense, that is where they are going.

Bret to me, is building the program the right way. Strong in the trenches on both sides. Has an offensive and defensive coordinator that he lets do their own coaching. He doesn't meddle unless he feels there is a need. He is likable and isn't a dick.

I loved CBMFP. But, he let a lot of people down for Little Bobby. I was extremely disappointed when the facts came out.

I do like the direction of the program under CBB. We haven't had a HC focus on the defensive and offensive lines. I also like the idea of forming a team of 85 Uncommon Men. If he does that, the team will be tough to beat. IMO
