Alabama was #84 in penalties in 2015 with 6.5/game. Auburn was #18 with 4.9/game. But the refs love Bama and never call penalties on them.

have you ever listened to Auburn football radio announcers? They whine about holding on almost every play. It's laughable. But there are people my age that listened to radio on game days. In the car coming home from a Bama game I used to enjoy listening to Auburn games. They are just straight up ridiculous when they call a game. Half of the time u don't even know what happened because they are just whining about a holding call. I think that radio dynamic has helped perpetuate their culture of whining about the refs.
