The silence isn't telling at all. Whenever anything happens in this day and age that gets a huge reaction, everybody buttons up to talk with their PR experts and lawyers before going out on a limb with anything. Just standard operating now.

I get that if it was some investigative report or something. In this case we have the player openly admit to accepting cash from a coach on TV and is everywhere you look. The silence tells me that Tunsil is going to stick by his comment. If he misunderstood the question a statement clarifying that would have come out immediately. You know that and I know that. You wouldn't let it blow up to this point and then try to come back and say he misspoke. You've lost the battle at that point.

If they decide to recant his comments now, no one will believe him, and rightfully so.

I'm reminded of a comment I read not long ago jury selection when it was announced a defendant not take the stand at his murder trial - no innocent man would refuse the opportunity to come up and tell us the truth. On that same note, you don't wait this long to deny your comments. If you're going to take this long, you better stand by it and prepare how you and the school will proceed going forward.
