Seems additional comments have tied the issue back to camps that he runs outside, but I have a hard time buying that one. I mean in that scenario, couldn't all of Mark Richt's old mission trips have been considered potential recruiting violations if we ever grabbed a player from Haiti? Ultimately, is there any doubt that Lattimore would be steering players to USC if he were to steer at all? I genuinely don't even think he would unless the kid wanted to go there to begin with anyways.

Why do you have a hard time buying it when, despite being poorly written, that's exactly what the story says.

247 Sports put it this way:

The former running back, who runs The Marcus Lattimore Foundation and runs several football camps, interacts with recruits and prospects and it is considered an unfair advantage.

As far as I know, Richt wasn't holding football camps in Haiti. The camps are the hangup. If Lattimore would stop them, there wouldn't be an issue.

As far as your comments about steering, I completely agree. I don't see him doing that.

In terms of buying it as a valid argument for the NCAA. I have no doubt it's their "reason", I just think it's bullshite and as others have said largely a semantic argument.
