This is especially true with the laws in Texas.

A&M must accept every in state high school graduate in the top 10%. A&M also accepts any HS graduate in the top 25% that scores a 1300 or 30 on the SAT & ACT (with minimums for each section). Knowing that going in, anyone who applies meeting those standards are in. These kids make up the large majority that get in to A&M yearly.
