Small town I guess. Everyone knows everyone else. I can only assume the lawyer and judge felt they answered the interview questions satisfactorily when they were chosen.
With the evidence given to us I still to this day feel like we got this one right.

Interesting story.
I've never made a jury but the time I made it to the final cut, I knew both the prosecuting lawyer and his client and either knew well or were acquainted with probably around 12 or so of the potential jurors.
That's just how it is. None of the people I knew made the jury either though.
