You are correct in that it has been a long time since we had an NFL quality QB...we have done ok with that

Cant even begin to compare Manning to all time great QBs. Most of you guys had fathers delivering newspapers on a bike or were in grade school when some of the great ones played.

Watch Johnny Unitas, Y.A. Title, Bart Starr, Roman Gabriel, Norm Snead, Sonny Jurgenson mostly with just one bar on their helmuts and most of them had eyes gouged or teeth knocked out, legs broken or ankles broken in pileups. Then Steve Bartowski, John Brodie, then one of the best as a pure passer, Dan Marino....who didnt have a team with defense and most of the time no real run threat. No...no Joe Montana...he had great run game and defense and great WRs...ditto Terry Bradshaw....although he threw deep passes with the best of them....but run game always opens up deep bombs.
Honestly, Manning would be about 15th on my list...maybe lower. Super Bowl rings mean squat for QB if the team had great defense like Denver just had.
