Obviously there are no transcripts of the Grand Jury proceeding since it's under litigation but reporters like Rucker who was likely there have said that his testimony to the Grand Jury was that he wasn't assaulted. Drae also told KNS that he told the Grand Jury that he wasn't. That particular interview took place shortly after his testimony.
The more distance we get between ourselves and an event the more our memories are tainted and the more likely we are to misremember. Memory is imperfect but this one is a big discrepancy even considering the amount of time that's passed.

They allow the press/public into grand jury proceedings?

Are you serious with this? How the hell would Rucker be allowed to hear his GJ testimony? Grand jury proceedings are not open to the public and kept in strict confidence. The jury, prosecutor and Bowles are the only ones who know what he testified.

This is not correct according to Dopirak.
