I agree with most of your points in general. We all need to learn. It always starts at the top, IMHO. Remember, we the people elected Gov. Nixon. We deserve the government that we elect. ie. How he "protected" Ferguson. How he integrated the Water Patrol into the HWP. How he handled the B1G flirtation. How he can't talk off script...and he's a Mizzou grad!

Regarding the advice/consent of legislature, I'm not so sure that is how it works? Anybody know for sure? I thought the Gov appoints the BOC and that's it. Of course, I could be wrong. The BOC is a major problem currently. There are three current openings. More ineptness coming?

Another problem is that the legislature is "very righty" and the university is "very lefty". That is naturally going to breed differences of opinion.

Yes, it sounds like Loftin was the fuel added to the fire. He was the real target of the protest/boycott from day-one. And they got him.

Wasn't Wolfe (business background) hired to keep an eye on the System's finances? He was not there to agree with the lefty Deans and admin. As a state taxpayer, I like the checks and balances. Gridlock can be good. Yes, Wolfe blew it with the protest and had to go. Wolfe was a bonus kill to the protesters.

Multi-level poor leadership is the bottom line. The protesters could smell the weakness and where embolden by Ferguson events. Then they confirmed the weakness with the Homecoming parade challenge to Wolfe. Then they instituted the boycott plan. Players joined and checkmate. A very pure power-play if there ever was one.

Will strong and effective leadership be appointed to oversee our beloved Mizzou???
