Arkansas and Anderson seemed like the perfect fit. What happened Arky fans? Did he get lazy?

He's just never been much of a recruiter. That system is entertaining, but it only really wins when the talent is considerably better than the opponents. It's not the type of system where undermanned folks can scheme their way to wins against better players. The big problem I see is that MA has not been able to teach defense and get his players to play that ferocious defense that Nolan's teams did. There were times when Nolan's teams could spring an upset against superior talent just by being ferocious on defense. However, with hand checking being called more closely and the rules favoring offense at every turn, I don't see this form of basketball being effective anymore. As one of MA's biggest supporters, I have been forced to admit that he's just not getting it done and I don't see any changes in sight. Today's game is all about landing top talent, and it's not happening. Gotta make a change and then make a big splash of a hire which is a very tall order. However, that change won't happen until at least the end of the 2016-2017 season. Regardless of the finish this year, he's going to get next year.
